This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 7, 2008 at 4:40 pmLaserCard Corporation announced receipt of a $3 million purchase order for
the supply of optical memory cards to the U.S. Department of Homeland
Security’s (DHS) U.S. Permanent Resident Card (“Green
Card”) program.
The purchase order, issued by the prime contractor to the Citizenship
and Immigration Services agency of DHS, calls for deliveries beginning
in March 2008 and continuing through LaserCard’s
fiscal 2009 first quarter ending in June.
“We are pleased to see the U.S. Department of
Homeland Security’s continued commitment to
the optical memory card for this mission critical homeland security
application,” said Bernard Bailey, LaserCard
Chairman of the Board. “Optical memory cards
are widely recognized as being the most secure among all ID cards issued
by the federal government. With no known case of our optical memory card’s
digital security having been compromised in more than 10 years of use,
this is a track record unparalleled in the ID Solutions industry.”
LaserCard Corporation’s revenue from the
Green Card program has averaged approximately $6 million annually over
the last two years.
