ATTO Will Have 8Gb FC HBA in May

Announced the company at CeBIT

ATTO Technology, Inc. is demonstrating its ExpressSAS RAID Adapters and FastStream Storage Controller Appliances at the CeBIT trade show. ATTO showcases its complete line of storage solution products, along
with announcing their intentions on the development of their 8-Gb
Celerity Fibre Channel Host Adapter product line.

The ExpressSAS RAID adapter demonstration features ATTO’s exclusive
DVRAID technology that provides parity protection in high-bandwidth
environments. The ExpressSAS RAID Adapter family provides SAS/SATA II
connectivity and delivers blazing-fast 3-Gb/sec. per port performance
for users requiring the highest performance SAS/SATA RAID solutions.

It is a low-profile line of adapters offering user selectable port configuration options.

Providing advanced fault-tolerant features that include hot swap,
hot spares, online capacity expansion, battery back-up, and optimized
disk utilization for SAS/SATA or SATA II drives or any combination, the
ExpressSAS R348 and R380 adapters deliver an intelligent and robust
RAID solution.

The adapters support standard RAID levels 0, 1, 4, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60
and DVRAID, making them capable of handling the most demanding IT
applications.

The FastStream Storage Controller demonstration will show how
off-the-shelf SAS/SATA storage can be RAID protected and networked to a
SAN environment. The FastStream SC 7500 provides 4-Gb Fibre Channel
connectivity to standard SAS and SATA II storage while providing RAID
protection to multiple low-cost storage arrays. By aggregating
inexpensive SATA disk storage and providing RAID protection from a
single appliance, users can have a low-cost of ownership on their
storage infrastructure without the need to purchase more expensive RAID
arrays. Featuring a one-button setup wizard that dramatically
simplifies installation and configuration for database and IT
environments, the FastStream SC 7500 is JBOD, DVRAID and RAID 0, 1, 4,
5, 6, 10, 40, 50 and 60 configurable. Pools of storage can be managed
from a central location providing users the ability to add storage as
needed. Existing RAID volumes can be expanded, mirrors added or RAID
levels changed dynamically while keeping all data intact.

ATTO is also announcing its intent to progress with the development of
their Celerity Fibre Channel Host Adapter line with the introduction of
8-Gigabit single-, dual-, and quad-channel host adapters. This
commitment continues ATTO’s tradition as a leader in next generation
storage-infrastructure solutions.

The new Celerity 8-Gb Fibre Channel Host Adapters will also feature
ATTO’s exclusive Advanced Data Streaming (ADS) Technology that
provides controlled acceleration of large and small blocks of data,
enabling users to achieve the ultimate in I/O performance. Celerity
Fibre Channel will have multiple O/S, port and driver options.

This ensures backward compatibility, enabling users to preserve their
4-Gb and 2-Gb Fibre Channel investments. ATTO’s 8-Gb PCI Express 2.0
platform is also backward compatible with existing PCIe bus platforms.

ATTO will begin OEM field trials of the Celerity 8-Gb Fibre Channel host adapters in May.
