Fast MACH4 CompactFlash by STEC

STEC, Inc. announced the industry’s fastest CompactFlash(CF) solution optimized for solid state storage within embedded applications, the MACH4 CompactFlash.

Built with STEC’s proprietary controller technology, the MACH4 implements multiple Flash channels to enable throughput speeds in excess of 90MB/s, making it the fastest, highest capacity, and most reliable compact storage solution on the market.

The new MACH4 CompactFlash is ideal for a broad range of market segments such as traditional embedded, networking and enterprise computing solutions. It also opens the door to various new applications and market segments including digital video cameras and small form factor computing devices.
Leveraging STEC’s advanced controller design, STEC’s MACH4 CompactFlash offers very low latency compared to traditional hard disk drives and consumes much less power (approximately 200 milliamps or 1 watt compared to 12 watts for a standard 7200rpm ATA disk drive), making it a top solution for the energy conscious.
Its small footprint, high capacity (up to 32 gigabytes), and throughput in excess of 90 megabytes per second, make the MACH4 CompactFlash an ideal hard disk drive replacement for space-constrained applications or those requiring improved reliability or less power than current hard disk drives offer.
