InfiniBand Products From QLogic Validated With IBM DB2 Data Server

QLogic Corp. announced it has completed validation testing of
its suite of InfiniBand products with the IBM DB2 data server
portfolio, including IBM DB2 9.1 "Viper," giving businesses the ability
to use ultra high bandwidth and extremely low latency QLogic
InfiniBand networking to interconnect their clustered DB2 databases
and improve overall performance. InfiniBand also provides companies
with a "single pipe" architecture that can be used for server, storage
and networking traffic which simplifies data center design and reduces
operating costs.

"QLogic InfiniBand networking solutions provide high bandwidth and
low latency performance features that are key to high performance,
clustered database implementation," said Frank Berry, vice president of
marketing, QLogic Corp. "InfiniBand offers up to 20Gb of bandwidth that
can be used to eliminate the need for separate physical server
connections to storage and network resources, thereby reducing the
costs and complexity of servicing an enterprise DB2 implementation."
