NetApp Expands Distribution of StoreVault With Arrow and Avnet
For mid-market customers in North America
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 22, 2008 at 3:59 pmNetApp announced an extension of a current
channel distribution agreement with the Enterprise Computing Solutions
(ECS) unit of Arrow Electronics, Inc., and Avnet, Inc. to
distribute NetApp StoreVault storage solutions to midmarket
customers in North America.
A leading value-added distributor for the
information technology industry, Arrow ECS provides enterprise and
midrange computing products, services, and solutions to value-added
resellers, system integrators, and independent software vendors. Avnet
is one of the largest distributors of electronic components, computer
products, and technology services and solutions. As a result of this
agreement, StoreVault will reach more resellers and end users through
Arrow ECS’s and Avnet’s extensive relationships with the storage
solution provider community.
Midsized customers face challenges similar to those confronting
larger organizations, yet compete for the same business. To maintain
their competitive advantage, mid-sized companies must ensure their
storage management capabilities provide them with enterprise-level
protection at affordable price points. The StoreVault family of
products enables solution providers to offer a complete solution for
firms with small remote (or branch) offices that are seeking
lower-cost systems from NetApp to solve backup, restore,
consolidation, and disaster recovery problems. StoreVault can help
provide the ultimate flexibility and scalability in SAN and NAS
environments.
"Arrow ECS is pleased to see our alliance with NetApp grow with
this agreement," said Sean Kerins, vice president of Arrow ECS’s
Storage Group. "We look forward to adding the StoreVault line to our
comprehensive portfolio of affordable and effective solutions for
medium-sized businesses. This agreement furthers our efforts to help
our reseller partners penetrate the midmarket."
"Expanding Avnet’s relationship with NetApp to include StoreVault
creates a great opportunity for our partners to provide their
midmarket customers with a complete storage management solution," said
Jeff Bawol, senior vice president and general manager, Avnet
Technology Solutions, Americas, Enterprise Software and Storage
Solutions Group. "The midmarket is core to our partners’ businesses,
and offering StoreVault will help them provide a more complete storage
solution, from both the cost and performance perspectives. It’s a
chance to provide them with an enterprise-level solution at an
affordable price."
"NetApp is one of the leading storage vendors that we work with,"
said Sandy Salty, director of Marketing, Trace/3. "Deepening their
relationship with Arrow ECS and Avnet is a smart move that will help
them touch a bigger slice of the midmarket space. They already have a
great reputation as one of the leading storage vendors, and this deal
should only help to enhance that perception."
The entire StoreVault line of products, which includes the
StoreVault S300 and StoreVault S500, is composed of simple, affordable
network storage systems that provide security, peace-of-mind data
protection, and simplified management of business information. More
intelligent storage allows a business with limited IT resources to
focus on solving business demands and addresses traditional problems
with leading-edge, intelligent technology. With support for NAS and
SAN, StoreVault is a strategic investment for midsized customers,
reducing the complexity of storage management.
