Software From Tilana Give Users Direct Access to Remote Personal Digital Archive From Windows Mobile Devices

Without the use of a WAP Internet browser

Tilana Systems Corporation today announced the release of
their new client software for Windows Mobile devices. Installed on
Windows Mobile 5 and 6, the new software provides direct secure access
to remotely stored data, as a new access point enhancing the benefits
of the Tilana Reserve online CDP, archive, and sync service.

Three Point Data Control

Direct mobile access to remote data storage is a new step for the
company in its Three Point Data Control product strategy of providing
anytime anywhere access to secure personal storage via PCs, Web
browsers, and mobile phones.

"Complete data access must be ubiquitous, direct, and fully secure," said Joe Austin, Tilana CEO.

Different than the more primitive WAP based mobile access offered by
most online backup services, Windows Mobile access to Tilana Reserve
remote storage is provided through Tilana’s new application, which is
installed on the phone and uses the same proprietary secure gateway
used by the Tilana Reserve desktop software installed on PCs.

Tilana Reserve for Windows Vista, Windows XP and Windows 2000
includes encrypted CDP (Continuous Data Protection) backup to managed
remote data center storage, folder and file sync across multiple
computers, and automatic unlimited versioning, all through a secure and
Web accessible Personal Digital Archive. A Mac OS X Leopard version of
Tilana Reserve is currently in development.

The completeness of Tilana Reserve for Windows Mobile is an
appropriate complement to the core service, providing unmatched access
to remotely stored data, including archived version history and the
rest of a robust feature set unique to Tilana.

Content uploaded from the mobile device automatically syncs down to PCs on the same account.

Changes to files and folders uploaded via Windows Mobile access will
automatically update on any computers configured to sync with the
remote data space. Tilana Reserve synchronizes all kinds of files
including business documents, contact databases, and entertainment
media. Captured photos and video, as well as any downloads collected on
the mobile device via email and the mobile Web browsing, can be
uploaded individually or in batches to the Personal Digital Archive and
automatically synced down to any PCs on account.

Download and upload individual files or folders containing multiple files.

Faster than transferring a file at a time through a WAP browser,
download or upload a file or a whole folder of files, each as a single
selection. Make sure that nothing already saved to the mobile device is
lost with an overwrite, and choose "Get if newer" to download a file
only if it can provide an update to a file or folder currently saved on
your phone.

Get previous versions of anything stored in the data center.

Download an older version of any file or folder based on date and time, and specify where to save it on the mobile phone.

Control access to your Personal Digital Archive.

Approve or deny data center access for any computer on your account,
including any new computer you want to protect and sync through your
Personal Digital Archive with Tilana Reserve. Quickly disable access to
the data center in the event of a laptop theft, shutting down any
access to your remote storage.

Tillana Reserve for Windows Mobile is a free download, installed via
ActiveSync with a PC, or by downloading directly to the Windows Mobile
phone.

The Tilana Reserve desktop software is a free download, installs in
about a minute and requires little if any configuration. Users can
choose to enable an unlimited number of computers with the software,
and then selectively protect and/or synchronize files and folders on
those computers via their personal remote storage space.
