Kroll Ontrack Updates Ontrack PowerControls

IT professionals familiar with Ontrack PowerControls will find the
new version delivers the same e-mail recovery power and precision, but
now can:

Set a live Exchange Server as a “target” for searching, moving, copying, exporting or deleting mailbox items.
Control Ontrack PowerControls user access via new Administrative
Services to mirror their organization’s internal IT security policies.
Track Ontrack PowerControls and Ontrack PowerControls Extract Wizard
user activity via new Administrative Services to store a centralized
audit log of operations performed.
Create new mailboxes on a target Exchange server manually or as part of copy-out process.
Generate reports showing results from each search performed.

• Export single mailboxes or an entire EDB store to PST files.

“Because Exchange data is often deemed sensitive, organizations
need a tool that not only simplifies e-mail management, but is mindful
of who has access to email data and how it can be manipulated,” said

Kroll Ontrack. “Version 5.0 offers the same powerful functionality that
has been helping organizations comply with information-oriented and
records retention regulations since the product’s inception , but now
enables users to more precisely control product usage and adhere to
their own internal policies more closely when utilizing the tool.”

“While Ontrack PowerControls 5.0 is more powerful than ever before;
it is still very configurable and easy-to-use,” added Reinert. “For
example, companies who set up the Ontrack PowerControls 5.0
Administrative Services can choose to enable either, both, or none of
the Activity Auditing and Permissions Access Control features.”

Different editions of Ontrack PowerControls 5.0 are available with
pricing beginning at $950 for 100 mailboxes.
