At VDL-ODMS, First Manufacturing Line for VMD HD Disc
From New Medium Enterprises, trying to compete with Blu-ray and HD DVD

Attendees will be given an exclusive tour of the new HD VMD replication line at co-hosts VDL-ODMS. The event marks a celebration of the HD VMD format, giving NME an opportunity to provide industry and press with worldwide updates and highlight recent milestones.
Presentations will also be given by NME’s optical disc industry partners including Netstal, AWM, Plasmon, Datarius, Scanavo and Planet Optical Disc.
Sanjay Khar, Director and Head of NME Optics states, "NME appreciates having so many honoured guests here from throughout the industry, our VMD partners and members of the media to celebrate this milestone in our HD VMD production launch phase. We believe that we have the right product with a proven platform and High Definition format." The technological breakthrough for the Multilayer disc was made possible through NME’s own patented ‘2p’ process method. Subsequent advances in HD consumer electronics and film authoring software have followed as a result of the company’s groundbreaking advances in optical discs.
