LSI Shipped One Million MegaRAID SAS/SATA

Corporation has shipped more
than one million MegaRAID SAS/SATA solutions, underscoring LSI
leadership in both SAS and RAID-on-chip (ROC) technologies. LSI offers
the most complete family of host-based RAID solutions in the industry,
including a wide range of MegaRAID adapters, ROC and
RAID-on-motherboard controllers.
This milestone underscores the broad market acceptance of LSI
MegaRAID technology throughout the storage industry. Eight out of ten
leading server OEMs today rely on MegaRAID solutions based on the LSI
SAS 1078 ROC IC to power their storage offerings. In addition,
solutions based on MegaRAID technology are widely available in the
channel through leading distribution partners.

The LSI MegaRAID family of adapters supports both SATA and SAS hard
drives, eliminating the need to choose between drive types. The family
comprises a complete range of RAID adapters, using PCI-X and PCI
Express technology in a variety of 4- to 16-port internal and external
connect configurations.
The MegaRAID Management Suite is a
comprehensive set of applications and tools, including next-generation
pre-boot and advanced online RAID management utilities. These
applications feature a variety of configuration options and SAS
topology views from the system host, controller, and disk enclosure
down to the logical and physical drive level. For administrators, this
means the ability to efficiently configure, monitor and manage RAID
volumes locally or over the network. MegaRAID Management Suite software
supports all MegaRAID family adapters, delivering the added benefit of
using a common software utility for all models and configurations.
