Pat Clarke CEO, Tandberg Data

He was formerly executive VP of of the financially-troubled tape company and replaces Kristian Jacobsen.

Pat Clarke, 42, has been appointed as new CEO in Tandberg Data ASA with immediate effect. Since 2006 Clarke has been Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Marketing and Service in Tandberg Data.

Pat Clarke has a proven track record over 15 years in Storage solution sales and general management experience in the open systems market, and is considered to be a big asset for the company.

"A long period with negative results together with weak operational performance for many months, have created a situation that require immediate measures to rectify and improve performance," says Pat Clarke.

"Clarke has a proven track record with substantial year on year growth over many years. I am confident that his business acumen and leadership will be important to regain profitability in Tandberg Data," says Gudmundur Einarsson, chairman of the board.

The coming weeks the new CEO and the board will hammer out a short term action plan. This will pinpoint cost reductions to be executed and it will prioritize opportunities to improve financial position. Following the immediate actions the company`s new management will identify medium/long term actions and plans to rectify and improve the performance of Tandberg Data.

"Tandberg Data is a global and highly competent organisation and a successful turnaround requires involvement of all key people in the organization. A broad but effective Steering Group will be set up to identify and monitor plans and actions. I`m eager to start getting the company back to black," says Clarke.

Pat Clarke has been Tandberg
Data’s Executive Vice President of Global Sales, Marketing and Service
since May 2007. Clarke joined Tandberg Data in 2006 as Vice President
Sales and Marketing EMEA. Before Joining Tandberg Data, Clarke was Vice
President and General Manager for Pillar Data Systems. Prior to Pillar
Data Systems he held similar positions for BakBone Software and
Overland storage. Having spent some years in the British Armed forces,
Mr. Clarke moved into the IT industry working at Quantum and then IBM.
He was educated at Clongwes Wood College in Ireland.
