Open-E Offers a Free IP-Storage OS

Open-E, Inc.
will offer a free download of its premiere Data Storage Server (DSS) Lite
IP-Storage operating system for a limited time to help kick start the new
year.

The DSS Lite for the Windows and Linux operating environments, will only
be available to be downloaded and activated free of charge from January 7 to
January 31, 2008. The company will also make its
software available to select partners, distributors, resellers and public
servers during this period.

Open-E’s DSS is an all-in-one, fourth generation OS software for
centralized IP-storage management, combining full network attached storage
(NAS) and iSCSI functionality. DSS offers outstanding price-to-performance,
enhanced manageability, and increased productivity for applications ranging
from file sharing, storage consolidation, backup and recovery, virtualization
to replication. The activated DSS Lite version will be fully functional
indefinitely and will be able to manage up to 2 TB of storage — however with
limited technical support.
