This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on January 7, 2008 at 2:07 pmDmailer, provider of portable back up and synchronization software solutions for a range of mobile devices, has received €2.5 million in funding from venture capital firms BNP Paribas Private Equity and Alto Invest.
The capital will be used to fund Dmailer’s growth plans and will be allocated primarily to support the company’s ongoing R&D program, which is geared towards ensuring the delivery of increasingly efficient and productive software solutions to its customers. In light of the growing worldwide user base of the Dmailer V7 product and increasing interest in its industry-first Dmailer Mobile product, the company will also use the funding to expand its team of sales and marketing professionals. To cater for the company’s growth and expansion, Dmailer recently moved to larger offices in the dynamic “Belle de Mai” Media Park in Marseille.
“We are always looking to invest in strategic technology companies that show strong potential for future growth”, says Nicolas Vaillant, Investment Director at BNP Paribas Private Equity. “Over the past six years, Dmailer has proved that it has immense technological expertise and vision and we are pleased to support them in their mission of providing the most innovative and best-in-class portable backup and synchronization software solutions for mobile device owners.”
“We are impressed by Dmailer’s focused value proposition, and are convinced the company’s innovative technology and leadership team will make a strong impact in the mobile devices market,” said Franck Halley, Investment Director at ALTO INVEST.
Since its launch in May 2004, Dmailer’s flagship Dmailer V7 product has sold over 20 million licenses in 120 countries worldwide. This unprecedented success and continued interest in Dmailer’s innovative portable back up and synchronization software solutions has seen the company work in close collaboration with a number of brand-name partners, the likes of which include: SanDisk, Western Digital, Staples, Yahoo, Disk2Go and more recently, LaCie, the leading computer peripherals manufacturer.
In October 2007, Dmailer announced the availability of an enhanced software solution for a new range of external mobile hard disk drives from LaCie and will see LaCieSync software preloaded onto the new Little Disk range – the new mobile hard drives designed by Sam Hecht: Little Disk 1.8; Little Disk USB (2.5-inch) and Little Disk Combo mobile hard drives. The agreement with LaCie is the latest in a series of collaborative ventures with blue-chip partners.
Dmailer Mobile, which starts shipping in Q1 2008 and will be formally showcased at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February 2008, is a revolutionary solution that enables wireless email access and synchronization of all personal data directly from the embedded memory, SIM or flash card of any mobile phone.
Thanks to the innovative technology behind Dmailer Mobile, all personal data included in Outlook (email, contacts and calendar), as well as photos, videos and office documents is accessible and synchronized with a user’s PC and email server. In addition, Dmailer Mobile easily and cost-effectively brings ‘send and receive’ Outlook email functionality to any mobile phone, making such a feature an affordable reality and no longer the preserve of only corporate or enterprise customers.
