Asigra Exceeds 50,000 Sites Being Protected

Asigra Inc., in agentless backup and recovery software for enterprises and service providers targeting the growing managed storage services market, has exceeded 50,000 sites being protected by the company’s remote and branch office optimized backup and recovery software, Asigra Televaulting. This equates to hundreds of thousands of laptops, desktops, workstations, servers and virtual servers. Organizations face many challenges and one of the most formidable is protecting (and restoring if lost or destroyed) the vital enterprise information that is distributed across geographically remote offices and factories. Asigra maintains the strongest position in WAN optimized backup and recovery with technology perfected over twenty years to outperform available solutions.

Asigra’s success in the market is due in part to the demand for WAN-optimized backup which has been driven by both distributed enterprises seeking consolidated data protection and managed service providers that provide services to distributed enterprises that understand the benefits of outsourced backup,” said Lauren Whitehouse, analyst for Enterprise Strategy Group. “With WAN-optimized backup high on IT’s list to provide better accountability, reliability and efficiency, Asigra provides a proven solution that the market has responded to favorably.”

From an overall UK perspective, UK analysts from The Broad Group have recently stated that the managed services provider market in Europe will be worth €6.2 billion by 2011. So in a market where Asigra is gaining market share, Asigra will also look to benefit from the growth of the market itself.

According to a 2007 report by Enterprise Strategy Group, entitled Branch Office Optimization, top organizational categories with 100 or more remote locations includes companies in the areas of telecommunications, transportation and logistics, retail/wholesale, financial, government and healthcare. A number of these organizations are transitioning from tape-based backup to WAN-optimized backup and recovery using technology backed by Asigra.

Asigra has been solving this problem successfully for more than 20 years, bringing the richest feature set available. These features translate to real business benefits which significantly outweigh offerings by Asigra’s largest competitors,” said David Farajun, CEO, Asigra. “Our technology continues to prove itself in thousands of enterprise environments across the broadest set of platforms for centralized visibility and command over backup and recovery. Our continued growth in this space emphasises our advancing technical and market leadership in remote backup and recovery.
