1TB SATA II Disk Drive Option for IBM DCS9550

The IBM System Storage DCS9550 offerings for Deep Computing systems, IBM System p HPC systems, and IBM System x e1350 Linux Cluster systems are expanded
to include a 1 terabyte SATA II disk drive option for the DCS9550 Models 2S1 and 2S2
Storage Expansion Units. The Models 2S1 and 2S2 Expansion Units have a 48 drive capacity.
The new 1TB SATA II disk drive is designed to enable DCS9550 Storage System configurations using
the Model 2S1 Storage Expansions Units to scale up to 960 disks, with a physical storage
capacity of up to 960 TB attached to a single DCS9550 controller. Storage configurations that scale
up to 240 disks with a physical capacity of up to 240 TB can be built using the Model 2S2
Storage Expansion Units populated with the 1 TB SATA II disk drives.
