Archion Provides 8TB Solution for “Beowulf” Animated Moovie

Archion, a digital storage provider for the film, entertainment and broadcast industries, has announced the selection of the company’s Alliance network storage system which was used for the post production work of Robert Zemeckis’ latest groundbreaking animated film, "Beowulf." That film, released November 16, 2007, is currently the # 1 film in America.

"We are very excited to have been a part of this film," Mark Bianchi, Archion’s CEO said. "Our corporate mission has always been to provide digital media storage solutions that make the tough work of audio and video post-production easier, more cost-effective, and extremely reliable. We have been proud partners to a number of companies working on some of the world’s best films."

Non-Linear Solutions, a Los Angeles-based company, acquired eight terabytes of Archion’s Alliance product for us in conjunction with the post production of "Beowulf." "When working in the world of post-production, especially on a big Hollywood movie, a reliable storage solution is essential and Archion provides just such a solution," says Non-Linear Solutions owner/president Danny Friedman.

"The Alliance product was selected for a handful of technical and economic reasons," Friedman added. "One of the things I like best about Archion is the RAID Solution of backing up all of the storage without the need for total redundancy. In other words, I don’t have to purchase four terabytes for a two terabyte project. It’s more cost-effective and helps me manage media more effectively. We’ve found that our down time has been practically eliminated and that makes me happy."
