The StrongBox 3.0 NAS for unstructured data, offers solution that provides both file and object storage with LTFS tape. This solution will be available to new and existing customers in April.

Exploding data growth continues to put pressure on businesses to find scalable, low-cost storage, and many businesses have turned to object storage to help solve the problem. But today’s object storage is generally disk based and can become prohibitively expensive as capacity requirements increase or as needs expand for secure off-site copies or multi-site protection.

StrongBox provides a streamlined solution for file and object storage that delivers performance to meet application workflow, capacity optimization and budget requirements. By fusing LTFS tape technology for cost-effective, scalable storage with SDD/HDD for performance, all data is accessible, protected and stored at the lowest possible cost per gigabyte.

StrongBox 3.0 creates an cloud tape by combining a standard object-based S3 interface with an underlying RESTful API that allows cloud applications to interface with StrongBox without requiring special calls or APIs. It0 allows cloud storage users to control their data costs and maintain chain of custody while supporting on-premise, off-premise and hybrid cloud storage models. StrongBox can be used with existing storage or as a stand-alone storage solution. All data is easily accessible by CIFS/NFS or S3.

StrongBox 3.0 is a true first for storage, providing file and object storage in one easy-to-use solution with the right performance to meet application requirements and the economics to stay on budget,” said David Cerf, EVP, strategy and business development, Crossroads. “We are pleased to provide a simple way for companies to control costs and ensure data availability both now and in the future.
