Promise: Pegasus2 M4 2TB RAID SSD

With Thunderbolt 2

Promise Technology Inc. announced two new storage solutions ideal for the growing number of houses of worship that are increasingly recording and editing live video streams to more widely broadcast worship services, sermons, and music – often with multi-camera recordings being delivered live to several locations and branches, or streamed online.

The Pegasus2 M4 SSD is a 2TB (four 500GB SSDs) Thunderbolt 2 RAID storage device that fits in the palm of hand and can be transported to remote locations. TIt SSD maximizes the bandwidth of Thunderbolt 2 at over 1,300MB/s, and can feed many ProRes 422 clips at the same time – allowing them to be edited with Mac Pro, MacBook Pro, and Windows Thunderbolt 2 computers.

The SANLink2 10GBaseT, launched in April, is a Thunderbolt 2 to 10GbE copper bridge adapter, which, combined with a Mac Pro and RAID storage (such as the Pegasus2), expedites content delivery and rendering for one of the quickest methods to offload footage captured from a Phantom CineStation. Similarly, the new SANLink2 10G SFP+ is a Thunderbolt 2 to 10GbE optical bridge adapter, which brings even greater performance to remote locations at greater distances.

We are really excited to announce the availability of our new storage solutions at WFX and demonstrate how they can help content creators at houses of worship design simple and flexible workflows,” said Chi Wu, president, Promise. “Promise’s solutions meet the storage needs of churches and ministries — they are ideal for editing broadcast elements — such as sermons, praise and worship, promotional videos and more.

During the WFX expo (Worship Facilities Conference & Expo), the M4 SSD was in demos for multi-camera environments and for high-performance live content delivery. Promise has demonstrated the VTrak A3800 storage appliance with the new SANLink2 10G SFP+ and the VTrak G1100 NAS Gateway.

House of Worship Success Story
Promise, provider in video capture, audio/video and broadcast, develops solutions for the world’s creative professionals, including the editing team at
Answers in Genesis (AiG), an apologetics ministry. Promise and the VTrak A-Class improved the efficiency of AiG’s editing process by more than 50% – saving the team countless hours.

Case study

The Pegasus2 M4 SSD is available in the U.S. through the company’s network of distributors and VARs. The SANLink2 10G SFP+ will be available starting in October.
