OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual With Thunderbolt and Hardware RAID

Other World Computing, Inc. (OWC) adds 20% larger capacity choice to the Mercury Elite Pro Dual line, which features Thunderbolt technology, hardware RAID options, USB 3.0 speed and the capacity to handle demanding 4K video content.

Sustained data rates up to 389MB/s read at 7,200rpm are for creative professionals using a Mac or PC with Thunderbolt port, including the Mac Pro 2013.

OWC announced a 12TB capacity option for the Mercury Elite Pro line of dual-bay external storage solutions, one of OWC’s family of Thunderbolt interface storage products.

High-Performance Two-Bay Design
The Elite Pro Dual, available in capacities from 0GB (add your own drives) and up to 12TB of total storage, adds storage capacity and throughput to any Mac or PC with a Thunderbolt port. Applications such as A/V post-production, photography, music, graphics, data management, and even Time Machine backups are enhanced with access to data at sustained data rates of up to 389MB/s read, 351MB/s write.

Flexible for Individual Storage Needs
The Elite Pro Dual supports independent drive access for two installed drives, providing hardware RAID, and is for RAID-0, 1, span, and JBOD modes.

Compatible With New And Legacy Macs And PCs
With USB 3.0 and two Thunderbolt ports and cables included, the Elite Pro Dual doesn’t require complicated set-up and is ready for plug and play use with legacy Macs, the latest 2013 Mac models, and PCs. It provides data transfer speeds up to 389MB/s read and can be moved between nearly any system with an available Thunderbolt, USB 3.0, or USB 2.0 port and with interoperability for maximum backup performance and flexibility.
