Linux AberNAS 78-Bay, 12Gb SAS Storage Servers and NAS From Aberdeen

Aberdeen LLC‘s 49 Series of storage devices all support 78 HDDs in a 4U form factor, which provides an platform for high density cloud services, archiving, backup, HPC and enterprise-wide server and storage tasks.

Based upon the Xeon processer E5 v3 product family, they all support up to 1TB of main memory.

The chassis features screw-less/adapter-less disk trays for easy HDD drive installation/replacement of either 3.5″ or 2.5″ drives, and an external cable management arm to enable nonstop business operation during the hot swap of any of its 78 HDDs

The flexible design of this series enables these devices to be configured to the user’s specifications and requirements. For the Stirling X49, you may choose between the Windows Server OS, many flavors of Linux or install your own custom OS, while the AberNAS N49W features Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 and the AberNAS N49L is delivered with company’s feature rich, custom Linux implementation.
