JetStor RDX78 RAID Storage Appliance From AC&NC

With RAIDIX software, up to 780TB of capacity in 4U

Advanced Computer & Network Corporation (AC&NC) has introduced the JetStor RDX78, a RAID storage appliance for data-intensive applications in enterprise datacenters.

With the
Raidix LLC‘s software installed, the 4U chassis provides a cost-effective cluster-in-a-box solution that delivers greater IO/s than disaggregated hardware clusters. The platform supports up to 78 hot-swappable and screw-less 3.5″ SAS/SATA HDDs, each offering up to 10TB of capacity, and/or SSDs for even faster performance.

The JetStor RDX78 is tailored for massive object or block-level data stores in public and private clouds, as well as for such applications as data analytics, HPC, video streaming and editing, and backups and archiving. It is designed for low costs-per-gigabyte for cold, warm or hot storage workloads.

The JetStor RDX78 targets the increasing demand for storage in enterprise datacenters, making it a welcome addition to the JetStor RDX family of arrays,” said Gene Leyzarovich, president, AC&NC. “It delivers over half a petabyte of capacity in a compact form factor, as well as very competitive speed, data protection, and economy. The platform incorporates all the best practices and features that cloud planners will need for years to come.

The JetStor RDX78 is available in the United States through the company and in the UK, India, Australia, and New Zealand from HyperScalers.

Function-rich cluster-in-a-Box
The RAIDIX software adds capabilities to the JetStor RDX78. The RAIDIX caching controller automatically identifies and relocates frequently accessed data to the chassis’ SSDs for a fast access and media transfer speeds. Frames are never dropped, even with concurrent HD or 2K-8K digital video streams, and the solution provides the throughput demanded by HPC applications.

RAIDIX error-correction technology eliminates data loss by detecting and fixing silent corruptions during normal disk operations without performance degradation. It also conducts background scans for silent errors during lower-activity periods. RAIDIX-powered JetStor platforms offer erasure coding and are large-block media delivery and storage systems supporting RAID-7.3. The triple parity of RAID-7.3 decreases the probability of system failure and ensures rapid data recovery even if three disks fail simultaneously.

We developed RAIDIX for precisely the hyper-scale applications that the JetStor RDX78 addresses,” said Anna Belova, VP, business development, RAIDIX. “Customers will leverage our technology on top of the robust JetStor chassis to store, deliver, and protect even the largest data troves, easily and affordably.

To further bolster its performance, the appliance is powered by the Xeon E5-2600 v3v4 processors and system manager, and two 2.5″ SSD boot drives provide fast access to frequently-used data. Additionally, the chassis delivers HA even under heavy loads with up to four 1,600W platinum-efficiency power supplies that provide redundant 2+2 split zone power configuration capabilities.

HyperScalers is delighted to have trusted and proven partners like AC&NC and RAIDIX,” said George Cvetanovski, founder and CEO, HyperScalers. “The JetStor RDX78 affirms our commitment to providing customers with industry-leading technologies and extremely competitive solutions.
