StrongBox VM, storage gateway tp protect and archive storage for unstructured data

Fujifilm Recording Media U.S.A., Inc., a subsidiary of FujiFilm Corporation announced that it will exhibit Dternity and the StrongBox VM (from Crossroads Systems, Inc.) at the 2016 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show in Las Vegas, NV.

FUJIFILM_dternityFlowChartStrongBox VM is a storage gateway solution that provides protected and archive storage for unstructured data. As a VM, it enables users to take advantage of their current storage hardware, which eliminates additional hardware and maintenance expenses. IT professionals can now turn existing tape libraries into a NAS for nearline and archive storage, or use StrongBox VM as a gateway to replicate off-site or to the Dternity Media Cloud. By combining flash, disk, and LTFS tape into a streamlined, cost-effective solution, StrongBox VM helps users protect their data on-site, off-site, or in the cloud.

The company will also demonstrate the Dternity NAS, its on-site storage appliance that now offers Partial File Restore for media and entertainment customers. Partial File Restore allows segments of specific media files to be quickly restored and utilized from many hours of footage.

FUJIFILM_DternityStack_NASBy retrieving timecode-based segments, production teams can now avoid moving whole files to find individual shots, thus minimizing the use of storage resources and speeding up the production process. It allows media professionals to access only the clip they need and avoid the hassle of sifting through hours of content on disk, tape or in the cloud.
