First Storage Systems by Mitac’s Subsidiary Tyan

TYAN, a server platform design manufacturer, and a subsidiary of MITAC Computing Technology Corporation, presented a variety of Intel Xeon Processor supported platforms during Computex 2015 (June 2-6) in Taipei.

The Xeon E7 based TYAN FT76-B7922, a dense and high performance 4U 4-socket platform with 96 DIMM slots, will be live demoed along with an array of TYAN products designed for general application, cloud computing, storage, and Intel’s Xeon Phi during Computex 2015.

On display at Computex 2015, TYAN’s FT76-B7922 supports four Intel Xeon E7-4800 v3 series processor, ninety six DDR4 DIMM slots, four Intel Xeon Phi co-processor and eight 2.5″ HDDs in a 4U chassis. TYAN FT76-B7922 with four Intel Xeon Processor E7-4820 v3, DDR4-2133 8GB memories, one Seagate SATA 6G 1TB HDD is running under Windows Server 2012 Enterprise OS, and CINEBENCH CPU benchmark tool. The live demo reveals performance and space saving benefits with workloads that are CPU, memory, and co-processor intensive.

First Storage Product
TYAN is also launching its first storage product line. Hosted by the Intel Xeon Processor based server GT62B-B7076, the TYAN TN70J-E3250 is the first storage product launched by TYAN which supports up to twelve 3.5″ HDDs / 2.5″ SSDs. Running under Windows Server 2012 Enterprise OS, and IOMeter tool, the TYAN TN70J-E3250 displays its high-performance ability as well as cost-efficient storage capability for a variety of applications that required storage upgrade ability.

TYAN showcases multiple platforms supporting Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 (Grantley-EP) and Intel Xeon E3-1200 v5/Core i3/i5/i7 (Greenlow) from entry level to high-end solutions. For 2-socket solution, TYAN provides S7070, S7077, S7076 and S7086 that all support (2) Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 series processor. Whether for a server or workstation, TYAN S7070  delivers steady and reliable performance. TYAN S7077 is a cost-effective 2-socket motherboard with various networking options on-board that deliver faster data transmission capacity. For customers looking for standard PCIe slots and OCP Mezzaine in a 2-socket form factor, the rackmount optimized TYAN S7076 and TYAN S7086 motherboards are good choices. With two x16 PCIe slots in a two-socket motherboard, the S7086 is the solution for mission critical applications and heavy workloads.

For entry-level or embedded applications, there is the TYAN’s single socket solution. TYAN will showcase several of Intel Xeon E5-1600v3/E3-1200 v5 and Core i3/i5/i7 based solutions. The S5620 supports one Intel Xeon E5-2600/E5-1600v3 (Grantley-EP) series processor, eight DDR-4 DIMM slots and one) x16 PCIe slot; designed as high performance single socket solutions with various networking expansion slots. Also offered are TYAN S5542, S5545-HE and S5546, which are Intel Xeon E3-1200 v5 based motherboards. The TYAN S5546 is designed for general purpose use with standard deployment while S5542 and S5545-HE are designed for SMB deployment with more features on board, such as supporting four DDR-4 DIMM slots and various PCIe expansion slots as well as networking ports.

After observation of current trends of combining server and storage to create a total solution, TYAN is launching a new storage product portfolio to fulfill the needs of the market. In a 1U or 2U chassis, The TYAN GF83-B7074, GT62B-7076, GN70-B7086 are all Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 based solutions and provide expanded storage capacity. Support ranges from eight HDDs up to ten HDDs; the above solutions deliver improved data storage capability within a server or workstation without extra storage equipment.

For customers looking for extra storage equipment for use in servers or workstations: TYAN presents its TN70-E3250 product that contains twelve 3.5″ HDDs / 2.5″ SSDs inside a 2U chassis. This design makes it a reliable option for IT users looking for cost effective storage solutions.

Coprocessor Compatible Product Lines Targeting HPC and Data Centers
Seeing the growing needs of HPC and mission critical applications, TYAN provides Intel Xeon E5-4600 v3/E5-2600 v3 supporting platforms which are compatible with Intel Xeon Phi coprocessors. Ranging from 1U, 2U, to 4U, TYAN presents its GA80-B7081, TA80-B7071 and FT77C-B7079, which supports two Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 processors and up to four Intel Xeon Phi coprocessors. Featured with higher flexibility and lower cost of ownership, the TYAN GT86A-B7051 and FT86-B7063 were showcased during Computex 2015 as well. The GT86A-B7051 is the 1U server barebone supporting two Intel Xeon E5-2600 v2 series processor that are designed for customers who want to build a new server room or a hybrid cloud computing environment in a cost-effective and efficient way. The TYAN FT86-B7063 is a new product that supports two Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 series processors and up to seventy two HDDs in a 4U chassis which delivers strong computing performance as well as faster data transmission and storage capability; ideal solutions for usage in a datacenter or cloud computing application.

Ranging from 1U to 4U, TYAN showcased its GT62B-B7076, RN65-B7053 and FT48A-B7070 during Computex 2015 that are mostly aimed toward general purposes as well as SMB market.
