Facilis Technology Enhanced TerraBlock Shared Storage System With SSDs

At BVE 2016, Facilis Technology Inc. will showcase enhancements to its TerraBlock shared storage system for content creation and post production.

Facilis will exhibit at BVE together with its EMEA channel partner Polar Graphics Ltd.

In a strategically move, the firm will showcase SSD technology, which it has incorporated in various ways within its TerraBlock system. The company reports that among other advantages, the integration of SSD technology increases the available shared bandwidth for heavy 4K production workflows.

In another key move for the firm within the competitive media production storage market, it has announced a strategic initiative aimed at driving down the cost of scaling capacity, thereby making TerraBlock accessible to a range of broadcast and corporate users.

The company is expanding with new vendors for its products and systems.

Also showing at BVE will be the shipping version of the FastTracker, a application designed for cataloging, searching and viewing many media types within firm’ Shared Storage, including all major QuickTime, MP4 and MXF codecs, along with DPX and TARGA image sequences, to name a few. This system includes custom metadata tagging, catalog user permissions, ‘Boolean’ search capability and incremental indexing functionality. FastTracker is a way to find, view, and access media in your project.
