Euroson NAS Appliance to Utilize AWS for Secure Storage for Archiving

Euroson America, Inc., distributor of MDI-Archive products, has announced the ES4400, an appliance solution for customers looking to utilize hosted cloud services for long term secure storage for archiving.

It has been developed to provide integration of hosted storage services from AWS and other S3 compatible providers into a hybrid cloud environment. It is intended for use as data archive storage with integration within an existing network infrastructure.

The ES4400 is a NAS storage appliance which includes Object Storage Management (OSM) developed by PoINT Software & Systems GmbH. The OSM Software application provides CIFS access to a hybrid cloud virtual file system making the advantages of hosted cloud storage useable without the need for costly changes and adaptations to existing servers and applications. The appliance includes 10TB of HDD which the OSM software uses to replicate the data in the cloud, providing a hybrid environment for faster access.

In addition, the OSM software provides policy-based automated archiving to hybrid cloud storage while maintaining transparent access from the original file location by stubbing. Data copy and data mover modes are also supported. Additional features include file ‘containerization’ into volumes for write protection and long term retention, an Archive Browser with search and retrieval features and automated replication and migration.
