euroNAS: Hybrid Storage Cache Tiering Functionality
For combined SSD and SATA/SAS HDDs in servers
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 12, 2014 at 3:05 pmThe German storage company euroNAS GmbH based announced storage functionality with his hybrid storage cache tiering.
It improves the performance of storage servers by dynamically moving frequently used data to a faster, smaller device such an SSD. It helps to use the best of both worlds. It is possible to combine SSDs and SATA/SAS disks and achieve much greater I/O performance while still maintaining larger capacity of the standard drives.
Possible scenarios would be:
-
Building a hybrid server containing SSD and SATA/SAS disks
-
Improving the performance of existing euroNAS servers by adding additional SSDs
-
Boosting the performance of existing FC RAIDs by attaching them to servers combining with SSDs and exporting them as euroNAS FC SAN
-
No vendor lock-in
-
As all euroNAS products SAN Cluster software is not locked to certain server manufacturer.
-
Target audience
Hybrid storage cache tiering optimized for:
-
applications accesing random data
-
virtualization
-
databases
Hybrid storage cache tiering is available for Premium Ultra, SAN and HA Cluster and will be updated within next 2 weeks.
