Akitio announced the availability of the Thunder3 Quad.

For added convenience, the four trays in the Thunder3 Quad are completely flexible in accommodating either 2.5″ SSDs or HDDs, or 3.5″ HDDs, offering users an unparalleled combination of performance and capacity of up to 40TB of storage with drives available in the market.

The Thunder3 Quad also provides massive storage space for other applications such as Lightworks, Corel VideoStudio, Pinnacle Studio, Cakewalk, Cubase, and ProTools. Multiple Thunder3 Quad enclosures can be daisy-chained together for even more storage capacity.

The Thunder3 Quad will be available in June 2016 with an MSRP of $429.99 for the diskless enclosure.
