As the digital economy continues to be a key driver in global development, Memblaze is experiencing growth, and with OpenPOWER it is set to advance the development of new-generation data centres.

At CeBIT, Memblaze will preview new products that will officially launch in May: its PBlazeIV series of new-generation SSD solutions. With different capacity versions for the PBlazeIV 700 series ranging from 800GB to 3.2TB, each with two form factor specifications of 2.5-inch disk and plug-in card, the series also features a large-capacity model offering 6.4TB (raw capacity: 8TB) for PCIe flash storage in the form of the Memblaze PBlazeIV 900 series. The maximum 4K random read and write IO/s of the PBlazeIV series SSDs can reach up to 800,000/250,000, and the highest R/W bandwidth reaches 4.0GB/s and 2.5GB/s, respectively.

PBlazeIV supports NVMe, already an interface standard for PCIe flash storage, and supports multiple OS platforms. The new-generation SSDs in the PBlazeIV series will further promote the evolution of the NVMe interface.

The performance of its products has earned Memblaze the recognition of internet companies including Baidu, Qihoo 360, Youku, and Tencent, Inc.

Once PBlazeIV support NVMe even more enterprise customers will be able to enjoy the performance and availability benefits offered by PCIe flash storage.

The OpenPOWER Consortium aims to create an open ecosystem: by adopting the widely recognized open and collaborative innovation model it shares the world’s top-level POWER technologies within the industry. Memblaze joined it in 2014 and the partnership between the two organisations will provide more diversified choices, more options and more flexibility for the design of next-generation large on-premise and cloud data centres.

Zhang Taile, SVP of Memblaze’s department of flash products, remarked: “Memblaze has impressive experience in enterprise flash technology and it has a vast user base in China. We are very optimistic about the open and collaborative innovation model of OpenPOWER. As enterprises’ data centres continue to diversify we will turn to our partnership with OpenPOWER to provide customized products and solutions which and exceed market requirements.”

PBlazeIV is expected to have samples available in the May 2015 timeframe.
