The company’s enterprise BC/DR software is to protect, replicate, and migrate data between vSphere and Hyper-V hypervisors, as well as across private, hybrid and public cloud environments including Amazon Web Services (AWS). ZVR 4.0 allows channel partners and cloud service providers to expand their offerings to grow revenues by providing Disaster Recover as a Service (DRaaS) as part of their Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offerings.

Virtual Replication 4.0 future proofs the IT strategy for all datacenters whether private, public, or a hybrid cloud mix of infrastructure by not being tied to a hypervisor or storage vendor for BC/DR and workload mobility. Moving and protecting workloads across clouds or hypervisors is now simple for IT managers, while still providing robust protection including low recovery times, simplicity of operation and scalability. ZVR 4.0 forms the backbone for Zerto’s cloud Continuity Initiative, enabling migration of workloads so enterprises can leverage any on premise or cloud environment as demonstrated through the recently completed customer Beta program.

Replication 4.0’s features include:

  • Cross-hypervisor replication – Reduces DR and testing/development costs by enabling customers to integrate Hyper-V into their VMware-based datacenters. Quick migration of workloads to new IT infrastructures improves ROI and easy replication between hypervisors helps avoid vendor lock-in.

  • Replicate from private cloud to AWS – Dramatically reduces IT capital costs and variability with a simple recurring expense, while leveraging AWS for production and on-demand resource access.

  • HTML5 user interface – One consistent and intuitive user interface simplifies workloads and management from any device. Wizard-driven virtual protection group creation ensures consistency in the BC/DR process.

Ziv Kedem, CEO and co-founder, Zerto, said: “Organizations are increasingly realizing the critical importance of maintaining BC in their IT operations, and protecting their infrastructure from failed DR efforts. They’re discovering they need to maintain flexibility to support varied hypervisors and cloud environments as they move from static homogeneous data centers to multi-site hybrid clouds. By enabling top-tier protection of applications across multiple infrastructures IT departments are better equipped to meet their business requirements, while reducing variable capital costs.”

Uzah Chinedu, infrastructure manager, Leadway Pensure PFA Ltd., said: “With Zerto we are able to recover our SQL Server database, File servers and other applications well within our SLA. With the new 4.0 version, which we tested in beta, Zerto remains the only vendor when considering BC/DR software.

Paul Flatt, infrastructure and support manager, Mitre10 Ltd. (New Zealand), said: “Zerto Virtual Replication 4.0 adds some great features to the product. The integration between VMware and Hyper-V is an addition that is sure to please IT specialists who want greater flexibility in choosing their data center infrastructure.”
