RapidFire Tools With Backup and Disaster Recovery-Specific Assessment Tool for Datto

RapidFire Tools Inc. developed a backup and disaster recovery (BDR) assessment tool at the request of Datto, Inc., a manufacturer of backup, recovery and business continuity solutions for the IT channel.

Datto is offering the tool to its managed services providers at no cost, allowing these MSPs to produce a report that outlines the backup and recovery requirements of the end user. The tool is available for immediate download from Datto’s website.

The BDR tool conducts a non-invasive scan of an end-user’s network, assessing parameters such as bandwidth requirements, download speeds, the amount of data currently being stored, remaining storage, and what type and level of back-up is maintained by each computer on the network. The resulting assessment report provides a detailed analysis of the client’s BDR environment, generating a list of suggested products and pricing. Datto MSPs can present an effective BDR program for each potential client based on the customized scan.

Datto MSPs can leverage this offering as a marketing tool by which to prospect for leads and gain new business, taking advantage of one of the many benefits of IT assessment. In addition to providing a proven tool for winning new end-customers, the company hopes to introduce more Datto users to the additional advantages of IT assessments. Regular network assessment reports provide a holistic, ongoing picture of network performance, isolating patterns and red flags that indicate questionable network behavior. This empowers managed services providers to proactively address issues and mitigate risks for their clientele – before these questionable activities manifest as a network compromise. Assessment reports document a network’s configuration, providing a blueprint for an MSP to rebuild that network in the instance of a system failure.
