The desktop client version 2.2.2 is available for Windows, MacOS and Linux. The app for Android devices has also been released in version 2.0.1.

The enhancements to the desktop client and Android app mainly come as a reaction to the numerous requests we received from our business customers,” states Holger Dyroff, MD, ownCloud GmbH. “A whole gamut of details now provide significant improvements in the integration, performance and security of our leading solution for Enterprise File Sync & Share.

What’s new
Several improvements have been made to the desktop client. Version 2.2.0 was released in mid-May, and the latest version (2.2.2) includes bug fixes. One iprovement includes the revised handling of USB storage, which provides more stability and the possibility to view server notifications on the client in the future. A detailed changelog has been published. The company has also revised ownBrander, which allows enterprise customers to customise the client individually and adapt their ownCloud to their brand.

One aspect of the version of the Android app is that the overlay icons have been revised, which makes the app look more like the desktop client. ‘Favourites’ files will also be stored offline automatically in the future, which improves integration into other Android apps. To provide more security, users can also use non-alphanumeric characters in their passwords from version 2.0.1. A detailed changelog was published on Github and the Android app is available from Google Play Store.
