NetJapan: ActiveImage Protector 2016 R2 Software

NetJapan, Inc. Europe announces ActiveImage Protector 2016 R2 with enhancements.

With this release 2 of ActiveImage Protector 2016, the company enters in the first court of the backup and DR arena: end users, resellers and managed services providers will find the same features than other sector-based and bare-metal DR manufacturer, and also instant recoverability and deduplication on-the-fly for Windows and Linux hardware and VMs.

ActiveImage Protector 2016 R2 is available in multiple editions: Virtual Edition, Server Edition, SBS Edition, Desktop Edition, Microsoft Cluster Edition, IT Pro Edition and Linux Edition.

Features:

• Push install for easy backup agent distribution within a network: ActiveImage Protector can interface with Windows Active Directory for enhanced network discovery. Simultaneously push install components to multiple computers for easy backup agent distribution.

• Client management console for easy administration of backup agents with an overview of all firm’s ActiveImage Protector’s agents across a network. It monitors status of client agents, provides one-click execution of backup tasks, and provides easy client license management.

• Shrink on-the-fly to restore to smaller disks or partitions

• Disk management tool to configure partitions during restore

• Automatic execution of missed backup tasks after system reboot

Enhancements:

• Various backup and recovery options have been improved such as the tracking driver, the backup retention policy settings for rotating disks, boot option and conversion from MBR to GPT disk and better Architecture Intelligent Restore (A.I.R.)

• Updated virtualization: backup images can be virtualized to the latest versions of Hyper-V or vSphere hypervisors (Hyper-V 2016 Preview and VMware ESXi 6).

• Email notification: a summary of backup task status can automatically be sent daily, weekly or monthly.
