Grau DataSpace Available on More Platforms

GRAU DATA AG presents product combination especially for file sharing and syncing and has ported its professional file sharing solution DataSpace for use on another flexible open platform.

The new solution option supports IBM Power Systems with POWER7 and POWER8 processors and the RedHat Linux Distribution. The reason for the porting is the special processor architecture of the power system, which has been optimized especially for big data workloads. The combined usage gives companies a very efficient hardware/software basis to operate the file sharing solution reliably with a large number of users and high data volumes.
 
The professional file sharing solution, DataSpace, is a scalable, secure communication platform for companies and organizations. It has scalability thanks to integrated ‘Shared Nothing’ architecture. The platform fulfills the needs of medium-sized companies as well as the requirements of large companies and service providers with more than 100,000 users.

DataSpace offers numerous functions for data security and client synchronization for internal and external users or groups. The solution can be operated internally within companies as well as with external hosting service providers.

A web-based user interface and native clients for iOS and Android are part of the standard package.

Also integrated into DataSpace are the CMIS-based sync clients for Windows, Mac OS and Linux, which are now also available for IBM Power Systems.

The additional management tools such as Quotas enable limiting of the storage space in DataSpace. This enables managed service providers or companies to limit, monitor and account for the storage capacity for individual users or groups in a targeted manner.
