Actifio Updates Resiliency Director Platform

Actifio, Inc. announced an update to Resiliency Director, its solution for non-disruptive application recovery and test environment creation from the datacenter to the cloud.

Resiliency Director works in conjunction with company’s CDS and Sky to deliver complete resiliency in the cloud and enable enterprises to restore critical business functionality faster and cheaper than previously possible, orchestrating compute, network, and data at a cloud service provider or enterprise DR site and validating the result.

Resiliency Director addresses many of the data recovery challenges faced by enterprises, both during, and after the DR process. Traditionally, managing the DR process has involved multiple manual processes across different systems and tools, creating a level of operational complexity that makes regular DR and DR testing virtually impossible.

DataBank, Ltd, a provider of enterprise business solutions for data center, managed services and cloud in the Midwestern United States, is leveraging Resiliency Director to create a robust, reliable, and cost-effective set of DR capabilities for its clients.

What’s new?

Version of Resiliency Director, version 6.2, includes the following improvements:

• Security made simple: Users are no longer limited to one ‘admin’ to manage everything. Resiliency Director allows multiple admin roles to be created and defined, meaning different users can do specific operations based on their role. This is useful for large enterprises and service providers who typically have multiple users and roles.

• Operational simplicity: It allows a single recovery plan to be applied to multiple resource pools and port groups, reducing the number of recovery plans that need to be created.

• More automation: Multi NIC IP customization allows a VM with multiple NICs to be customized with new IPs for each NIC during the creation of a DR plan. This eradicates the manual process of assigning IPs to each additional NIC.

• More OS platform support: This version adds support for a wider range of Linux and Windows OS versions, in addition to supporting VMs with localized OS versions.

• Automatic upgrades: Resiliency Director users have access to self-service upgrades to any future versions, reducing upgrade costs and simplifying the process.
