Formerly at Microsoft Storage Spaces and Nexenta

RAID Inc.,BakerRAID Inc. announced that storage specialist Trenton R. Baker has joined the growing company as VP marketing to help scale RAID’s growth and go-to-market operations.

He will quarterback the surge into Microsoft’s flash-centric hyperconverged Storage Spaces Direct and Azure Stack hybrid cloud architectures, by building upon RAID Inc.’s established pedigree as massively scalable HPC storage technical experts.

RAID Inc. is ideally positioned to build on our record 50% revenue growth in the HPC market by providing focused and unbiased technically sound storage solutions,” states Bob Picardi, CEO. “Trenton joins RAID at a great time, bringing with him solid industry partner relationships and experience with hyperconverged and cloud installations, that will raise our success in these markets to a new level.”

Baker brings nearly 20 years of OS-agnostic hardware and storage experience with an extensive background in enterprise strategy, partner relationship management, demand generation, product marketing and channel growth. Most recently, he served in a channel and alliance VP role forging the adoption of Microsoft’s Scale-Out Files Server technology-commonly known as Storage Spaces. He also has held growth oriented roles at ZFS-oriented Nexenta Systems, where he helped to define the birth of software defined storage with 486% Y/Y growth.

Recently reported by Wikibon, the big data market should reach $92 billion and private cloud deployments are proposed to top $200 billion by the same year,” said Baker. “In joining the RAID Inc. team, I feel that we have the opportunity to strike while the iron is hot but more importantly guide our clients through this hyperscale growth period with the RAID agnostic approach, where we compare and contrast various architectures, since storage is no long a one trick pony.
