Jim Fitzgerald VP Business Development and OEM Sales, Maxta

Joins from Nexenta.

Maxta, Inc. announced the appointment of Jim Fitzgerald as its VP of business development and OEM sales.

maxta,Fitzgerald Fitzgerald, who has 25 years of sales and management experience in enterprise software and storage, joins Maxta from Nexenta Systems where he was VP of business development. He led Nexenta’s partnership strategy and successfully closed OEM sales and strategic relationships with companies such as Cisco, VMware, Intel, SuperMicro, Sandisk, and Seagate.

Fitzgerald’s track record includes data protection company SteelEye Technology, where as founder and CEO, he guided the company through multiple funding rounds, consistent revenue growth, and ultimately its sale to SIOS Technology. He spent eight years at Sun Microsystems in successively more influential sales and marketing roles and where he developed global business policies, negotiated channel and OEM deals with multi-national companies and distribution partners, and led strategic partnerships, corporate acquisitions and joint ventures.

He received a bachelor’s in economics from Boston College and an MBA from New York University, Leonard N. Stern School of Business.
