Garrett Jones VP Sales, Spanning

Spanning Cloud Apps, Inc. announced that channel sales veteran Garrett Jones has joined as VP sales.

 His appointment comes at a time when Spanning’s global growth is accelerating through deeper relationships with Google Apps resellers and Salesforce.com consultants. 40% of Spanning’s revenue now comes from international customers who use the company’s solutions to eliminate the risk, cost and consequences of cloud application data loss.

In his new role, Jones is charged with building and developing new elements of multi-channel sales efforts and shaping the programs and processes that will help further fuel the company’s international momentum. He most recently served as VP of global channel operations at Symantec, where his team led the development of the company’s global channel strategy and redesigned its partner programs. With more than 20 years of experience in channel sales, business development and strategic alliances, he also spent time working for Dell Inc. across the U.S., UK/Ireland and AsiaPac.

He is equally accomplished outside his professional arena. He’s a fierce canoe racer who’s placed in the top 15 three times in the 260-mile Texas Water Safari, also known as the World’s Toughest Canoe Race. His longest run, 58 hours with no sleep, proves what a passionate competitor Spanning has leading the sales team. He is also a devoted husband and father of two boys, and he enjoys relaxing with his family, live music, or a cold margarita.

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, he holds a liberal arts degree in business economics.
