Also Sales and Marketing Responsibilities for Ebrahim Abbasi COO, Violin Memory

Violin Memory,AbbasiViolin Memory, Inc. is broadening the responsibilities of Ebrahim Abbasi, company’s COO.

 

 


He will assume sales and marketing responsibilities for the business in addition to his current responsibilities in R&D, customer support and manufacturing operations.

Said Ouissal, SVP WW field operations, will be focused on transitioning sales and field operations responsibilities to Abbasi and will assume his strategy position reporting to president and CEO Kevin DeNuccio.

This is also part of reducing and taking a layer of management out of firm’s senior ranks more appropriate to the size of the business.

Ebrahim has leading the actions of Violin’s product development, particularly to Concerto OS over the last year, and he’s credited with a successful delivery of the new FSP products to be announced this week, while also driving Violin’s lower expense structure.

He joined the company in March, 2014. He is a veteran of Silicon Valley with a record in growth as well as turnaround success stories. Most recently, he served as president for Roamware (now Mobileum) where he was responsible for restructuring and refocusing the company on a growth path. Prior that, he held the position of president and COO at Force10 Networks Inc. where he transformed the company into a major cloud computing powerhouse and led its acquisition by Dell in 2011. Before joining Force10, he held the position of SVP and COO and CIO for Redback Networks, Inc. where he contributed to the turnaround of the company’s corporate operations functions that led to a $2.1 billion acquisition by Ericsson in 2006. He was also a member of the executive team that grew Ascend Communications into a $24 billion acquisition target by Lucent Technologies.
