Multimedia home network computer with DVD changer and HDD
By Jean Jacques Maleval | August 14, 2013 at 2:26 pmSony Corp., Tokyo, Japan and Sony Electronics, Park Ridge, NJ, have been assigned a patent (8,457,471) developed by Mark Hanson, San Jose, CA, and Isao Murase, San Diego, for a "multimedia home network computer."
The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: "A home entertainment network has a computer with a multi-DVD changer which holds plural DVDs onto which content from an HDD can be transferred for storage. Also, DVD content can be ripped to the HDD, and multiple copies of home videos and photographs on the HDD can be made onto several disks simultaneously."
The patent application was filed on Oct. 23, 2008 (12/256,641).
