Synnex Adds Coho Data to Distribution Portfolio

In North America

Coho Data, Inc., in web-scale flash storage for the enterprise, announced that Synnex Corporation, a distributor of IT products and services, has added Coho Data’s solutions to its storage portfolio.

The relationship will address the performance and scale challenges enterprise, customers face in managing their growing data by accelerating the availability of Coho Data scale-out storage platform. This strengthens Coho Data’s mission of democratizing web-scale IT for enterprises, while providing North American VARs and system integrators with a solution to solve customers’ data challenges with a storage platform that scales performance and capacity in a single namespace for both structured and unstructured data.

The storage industry is facing a sea change right now, with increasingly more businesses seeking the benefits provided by the private cloud, with public cloud-like efficiencies and scale-as-you-grow models,” said Bob Stegner, Synnex SVP, marketing, North America. “We are happy to collaborate with Coho Data to deliver fast, flexible storage solutions to our partners and customers. We believe this relationship will enable us to bring the performance and value advantages of web-scale infrastructure models to enterprises of all sizes.

By building a flash-optimized scale-out storage solution that leverages off-the-shelf hardware, Coho Data delivers a flexible building block for enterprises to achieve the economic benefits of web-scale datacenters, including growth of additional capacity and performance, and simplified management of a single system that can grow from terabytes to petabytes.

Web-scale architecture is quickly becoming a common part of modern datacenters and companies are starting to demand solutions that enable them to dynamically scale like the on-demand services of an Amazon or Google,” said Mark Peters, Enterprise Strategy Group’s senior analyst. “It is critical for enterprises to embark in this direction of using smart scale-out software combined with commodity hardware to change the economics of buying and managing storage in the private cloud.

As long-time enablers of enterprise private clouds through Synnex system integrator ecosystem, we look forward to working with Coho Data to build and deliver high-performance, scale-out storage for our customers,” said Chris Terry, EVP, Racklive (division of ASA Computers). “By combining our expertise with Coho Data and Synnex, we can design, build, rack and deploy solutions faster than ever for our global customers.

To further its mission of bringing web-scale storage to enterprises everywhere, Coho Data’s partner-first channel program is designed to accelerate the growth of new customers by building key relationships with resellers and integrators.

By aligning with Synnex, we are advancing our vision of bringing the power of web scale storage to enterprises everywhere,” said Marius Tudor, Coho Data VP of channel and business development. “The Coho Data team understands that to dynamically scale in this industry you must succeed in the channel. Working with Synnex allows us to strengthen our North American channel reach as we continue our explosive growth.
