Promise to Provide Surveillance Cloud Platform to Asahi Net

To launch video surveillance cloud service in Japan later this year

Promise Technology Inc. announced the company will provide its surveillance cloud platform to Asahi Net, Inc. who will launch a video surveillance cloud service in Japan later this year.

The solution for Asahi Net is based on Milestone Systems XProtect Corporate video management software (VMS) and Promise’s cloud surveillance platform – an integrated solution that includes VSky A1970 scale-out storage, and also a customized software solution from Promise that manages the system and the installation and configuration of the IP cameras.

Promise unveiled its surveillance cloud solution in March 2015 at the Security Show in Tokyo by showing a live demo from security cameras located inside and outside of Japan through Promise’s cloud platform in Taiwan. Asahi Net believes Japan’s internet infrastructure and the demands of the market are suited for surveillance cloud services and they found a good technology partner in Promise to help build their solution.

Promise has been working closely with Milestone to customize the XProtect Corporate VMS according to Asahi Net’s requirements. Milestone engineers will be involved providing custom development services, as well. Promise, Milestone and Asahi Net have been testing the solution in preparation of the release of this cloud service in the second half of this year. The Asahi Net solution is one of the pioneering Promise surveillance cloud projects as the company will roll out the platform to service providers around the world.

The platform we are building for Asahi Net’s cloud service again strengthens Promise’s continued transition from a storage provider to a trusted cloud solution partner,” said James Lee, CEO, Promise. “With Asahi Net’s long history and Milestone’s industry expertise, Promise is confident our cloud platform will help protect and develop the businesses of Japanese customers while providing a range of benefits that make the solution very attractive.

The Promise surveillance cloud platform is built with VSky A-Series scale-out storage which is designed for peabyte-level deployments. Additionally, Promise has customized its own software solution for Asahi Net that will manage the entire system. The software solution provides a range of features, including a tool that simplifies the camera installation process.
