Origin Storage Solutions Partner of SafeToGo

Hardware encrypted USB 3.0 flash drive from Cardwave

Origin Storage Ltd. have become a solutions partner of SafeToGo centrally managed encrypted USB’s by Cardwave Services Ltd.

Mobile work forces are an important part of a modern day corporate environment, and USB storage devices have become essential, but they are small and easy to lose. SafeToGo is a security solution for individuals and organisations who value their data and need assurances that it can be kept safe when being carried around.

SafeToGo is a robust hardware encrypted USB 3.0 flash drive that protects sensitive data and can be managed through the SafeConsole Secure USB Management Server, giving administrators control over specific features that help users manage and secure sensitive data. It has been designed and manufactured to achieve quality, performance and security, and is CE, FCC and RoHS certified. The housing is made from aluminium and available in capacities from 4GB to 64GB.

Inspire Architects is a customer of SafeToGo. They recommend the product because it offers a secure solution that is easy to use and flexible for their future company growth plans.

A spokesperson for the practice said they use the service: “To ensure that our company and client’s files are securely encrypted when working or travelling off site. With the new GDPR coming into force we needed to ensure that data on the move is safely secured by a hardware encrypted device that is also compact and robust. It’s really easy to set up and use. As our company grows, the knowledge that we can use it alongside a central USB management system was also really attractive.”

New general data protection regulations (GDPR) mean organisations that handle EU citizens’ data face fines of up to €20 million or 4% of their global annual turnover if they are found non-compliant. The GDPR will come into full effect in 2018. Organisations are now required to tell regulators about a personal data breach. This notification won’t be required if the breach is “unlikely to result in a risk for the rights and freedoms of individual.” For example if the USB was encrypted.

Stuart Eling, sales manager, Origin Storage, commented: “At Origin Storage we are continually building our product portfolio and are always looking for partners with innovative new solutions to complement our storage and data security technologies. SafeToGo is a perfect fit to our existing solutions based portfolio.”

Paul Norbury, CEO, Cardwave, commented: “We are proud to announce Origin’s appointment as a new distributor for SafeToGo. The partnership with Origin is a key piece of our channel portfolio jigsaw ensuring that we now have agreements with a strong growing mix of distributors across Europe for the product range.”
