Fujitsu Appoints Distribution Central as VAD for Eternus Storage

In Australia and New Zealand

Fujitsu Ltd has appointed Distribution Central Pty Limited (DC), in technology distribution and channel services, as a VAD of its ETERNUS storage platform in Australia and New Zealand.

This agreement is an expansion of the existing partnership between Fujitsu and Distribution Central, which includes Fujitsu’s PRIMERGY server range. The PRIMERGY servers support DC PODs (Products-on-Demand), however with the addition of the ETERNUS storage solutions, DC can deliver a larger set of pre-defined and reference architecture solutions and can make more DC PODs available.

The ETERNUS solutions will be distributed through Fusion Systems, a business unit of DC, which specialises in contemporary data centre solutions and provides a suite of reseller support services. ETERNUS will also enhance DC PODfactory and DC CloudSelect channel services.

DC’s MD Nick Verykios said: “Market demand for converged data solutions has been growing and our partnership with Fujitsu enhances our ability to address this opportunity. DC has been enabling its partners through our pre-defined and reference architecture multi-vendor solutions delivered through DC PODfactory and DC CloudSelect, but it made sense for us to include ETERNUS so that our partners can deploy the entire solution through DC. In particular, ETERNUS addresses the reseller demand for the physical aspects of our DC PODfactory go-to-market strategy.”

Andrew Griffioen, new public manager, PowerNET said: “PowerNET has benefited from DC’s expertise in storage configuration and quoting and we have found the Fusion Systems team to be efficient and quick to respond to our requests. We’ve also taken advantage of DC’s simplified quoting process for vShape through their DC PODfactory service to provide our customers with fast and accurate vShape quotes.

Daniel Campbell, channel manager, Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand comments: “Following the appointment of DC as a distributor of our PRIMERGY Server range last year, we are delighted to announce the extension of our partnership to incorporate our ETERNUS storage portfolio. This move will allow us to leverage DC’s substantial expertise in the enterprise storage market to both enhance the support provided to our growing partner base and open new market opportunities, enabling us to fully capitalise on the significant range of feature enhancements available in the ETERNUS S3 generation.”
