Druva Earns Amazon Web Services Storage Competency Designation

After five years of experience in using AWS

Druva, Inc. has earned the new Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Network (APN) storage competency designation from AWS.

The achievement reflects Druva’s five years of experience in using AWS as an integral part of its inSync endpoint data protection and governance platform. The award also further validates the company’s use of AWS in the Phoenix cloud-first backup solution for remote office servers.

Qualifications for APN Storage Competency include technical proficiency, software validation for storage by internal AWS teams, and success in helping customers evaluate and use the techniques and technologies of storing data in the AWS Cloud. The storage category is the latest addition to the APN Competency program, which also recognizes partners with specializations in big data, life sciences, Microsoft, Oracle, SAP and managed services.

We have leveraged the best of AWS, from Amazon S3 and Glacier object storage to the Amazon DynamoDB NoSQL database, to deliver a completely distributed cloud-oriented architecture in both our inSync and Phoenix solutions. The fact that our Druva cloud on AWS has helped fuel rapid growth in the number of inSync customers who elect the AWS cloud deployment option to store data backed up from their employees’ desktops, laptops, smartphones and tablets, and we expect our use of AWS will also help build momentum for our new Phoenix solution for server backup,” said Chandar Venkataraman, chief product officer, Druva. “This new APN Storage Competency designation will help give new customers even more confidence in our ability to deliver secure, scalable and durable storage in the AWS Cloud.

inSync platform brings critical business data on employee devices under centralized IT control via integrated endpoint backup, data loss prevention, IT-managed file sharing, and data governance tools. It creates and updates a centralized repository of backed-up files that enables rapid data recovery for lost or stolen devices, allows remote user access to any file or folder from any device, and supports eDiscovery, compliance and forensics needs.

New Phoenix server backup solution for branch offices leverages the same AWS architecture to enable both short – and long-term backup to the cloud. It unifies hot, warm and cold backup and archiving processes and administration, eliminating tape, off-site storage and 70% of the costs of managing server backup, archiving, retention and recovery.
