AIS Data Centers Launches Managed Storage Service

In San Diego, CA, and Phoenix, AZ, with two geographically-diverse NetApp targets

AIS Data Centers, the Southwest’s market for business-ready IT infrastructure, announced availability of AIS BusinessStorage, a managed storage service tailored for companies seeking to augment or replace storage capability while eliminating the need for capital expense or in-house expertise.

Featuring two geographically-diverse NetApp ‘targets’ in San Diego, CA, and Phoenix, AZ, BusinessStorage provides access to enterprise storage without the burdens of equipment ownership, maintenance, or upgrades. Accessing the service is accomplished via cross-connect from a customer’s colocation site or cloud environment – or via direct connection from any external site regardless of physical location.

AIS data centers has been providing managed storage service since 2009 on both a standalone basis and as part of AIS BusinessCloud, the company’s cloud service launched in June 2012.

This announcement reflects expansion of AIS Data Centers’ business engagement
with NetApp and broadening of storage offerings into three new bundles:

  • BusinessStorage ‘Archive’: Simple access and scalability for customers needing long-term archive capability with minimal management overhead.
  • BusinessStorage ‘Production’: Direct access and SnapMirror/SnapVault targets for supporting applications such as Exchange and SharePoint.
  • BusinessStorage ‘Geo-Mirror’: Adds geographic diversity to the ‘Production'” feature set for DR as well as out-of-region storage for test/development and for meeting strict off-premise data retention requirements.

NetApp is a recognized and highly-regarded provider of storage and data management solutions, aligning perfectly with our strategy of deploying top-tier infrastructure to yield the best, most integrated managed services available in any market,” stated Greg Rollet, CEO, AIS Data Centers. “Combined with our strong regional network and wide range of cloud and colocation services, AIS BusinessStorage provides the ideal platform for supporting archive, production, DR, and test / dev applications – and all it takes is a simple cross-connect.

We look forward to seeing AIS Data Centers expand their portfolio by providing new cloud storage services built on NetApp,” said Jon Mellon, VP and GM, Americas service provider area, NetApp. “Customers will now have more choices when determining how to fulfill their current and future storage requirements.
