The pounding rain began drenching the North Bay Area early Thursday morning, December 11, and was joined by hurricane-force winds. The storm, continuing into Friday, has resulted in flash floods, widespread power outages, downed trees and closure of major highways. Many individuals and businesses may experience extensive damage to electronic devices as a result of power outage, water or impact.

As people in San Francisco and other cities in Northern California clean up from the disorder left by the storm, we would like to extend our services to assist where we can in recovering lost data from damaged computer storage and mobile devices,” said DriveSavers president Scott Moyer. “DriveSavers has nearly 30 years of experience in securely retrieving photos, financial records, videos, tax documents, contact lists and other critical information stored on HDDs.

Coordinating efforts with its broad network of computer service providers in and around the area, DriveSavers is offering $500 off data recovery services for single HDDs and RAID systems damaged by impact, water or power surges resulting from the storm through January 31, 2015.

Computers with HDDs that make any unusual clicking or scraping noises or won’t spin should always be powered off and sent to a professional data recovery service.
