Utex Industries, Manufacturer of Products for Oil and Gas Industry, Chooses Code42

Code42 Software, Inc. announced that UTEX Industries, Inc., a manufacturer of products for the oil and gas industry, selected Code42 CrashPlan to protect and manage end-user data on laptops and desktops.

Previously the company relied on manual end-user backup via servers and external HDDs for its 1,100 employees. Unsatisfactory end-user adoption rates and several laptop and HDD thefts resulted in permanent data loss for the company. As a result, UTEX required a solution that backups all endpoint data, anywhere and all the time, and also provides airtight security and data recovery.

Following a thorough assessment, UTEX identified CrashPlan as the solution to safeguard its mission-critical data, due to Code42’s secure cloud deployment option, and the solution’s ability to scale and handle large amounts of concurrent data streams without issue.

Part of CrashPlan’s appeal to UTEX is that it’s more than a backup solution. UTEX plans to migrate to Windows 10 and is looking at CrashPlan to execute the migration. Additionally, the solution provides UTEX’s IT and legal teams with the ability to collect and manage end-user data for legal holds and e-Discovery.
