Netherlands’ Fundaments Implementing Zerto DRaaS Software

By Implementing Zerto DRaaS Software

Zerto, Inc. announced Fundaments B.V. has expanded its infrastructure as a service (IaaS) capabilities by implementing Zerto DR as a service (DRaaS) software to migrate customers into the cloud for IT data center protection.

The DR capabilities allow customers to achieve key business objectives such as maintaining regulatory compliance. An intuitive user interface supports easy point and click workflow features to reliably conduct failover, failback, and testing with good RPO.

According to Eurostat, the Netherlands has the fourth highest consumption of cloud computing in Europe. With 28% of the country’s enterprises noted as having a high level of dependence on cloud computing services, Fundaments sought to better serve this market by enhancing its IaaS platform’s capabilities. Although multiple BC/DR software offerings were evaluated, Fundaments found the associated backup processes were too complex to integrate and not well suited to the development of a self-service portal. These same offerings also resulted in a poor RPO of approximately 10 to 15 minutes, resulting in the cloud service provider’s decision to continue its search for a viable alternative.

Fundaments chose Zerto Virtual Replication software to migrate a large healthcare industry customer with 40 VMs onto its IaaS platform. The project delivered a smooth implementation and allowed the customer to test failover and failback capabilities. For highly regulated industries such as Fundaments’ healthcare and government customers, Zerto’s reporting capabilities helps them meet compliance and audit requirements without impacting their production environment to ensure an ‘always on’ operation.

Larik-Jan Verschuren-Parchomov, CEO, Fundaments, said: “Our two goals were to easily migrate customers from their on-premise VM environments into our cloud, and offer a comprehensive yet simple to manage DR solution with seamless protection without a lot of complex management processes. Zerto Virtual Replication was much better suited to what we were trying to achieve as it provided a single platform to both on-board clients, and a DR solution with an RPO of just a few minutes that could seamlessly integrate with our existing portal. This allows our customers to both manage and test their DR process with just a few clicks, which is a game changer for them as they gain a real competitive advantage.

Peter Godden, VP EMEA, Zerto, said: “Working with partners such as Fundaments demonstrates the power of a true hypervisor agnostic and software centric approach to solving the critical issues facing IT organizations. The opportunity for cloud service providers and VARs to build their businesses by providing DR as a Service and innovative self-service tools to their customers is ever more critical to improve their service levels. For those that serve highly regulated industries such as healthcare, financial services and government, the ability to have this level of speed and flexibility is paramount in order to remain competitive.
