Verbatim Entering Into USB 3.0

With PCI card bundled HDD offering

Verbatim, celebrating its 40th anniversary, announced its entry into the emerging USB 3.0 category.

In Q1 2010, the company will introduce a new 3.5” desktop USB hard drive to come equipped with a PCI card for seamless USB 3.0 connectivity. Verbatim’s complete 2010 line-up was on display at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

We’re extremely excited to introduce our first USB 3.0 compatible product for desktops that will ensure complete interoperability and the best out-of-box experience for our customers,” said Charles Klinker, Verbatim’s Director of Marketing, HDD Products. “As a leader in the hard drive market with our finger firmly on the pulse of consumers’ evolving needs, we’re pleased to deliver an easy-to-use option that allows them to experience the significant improvement of SuperSpeed 3.0 connectivity when transferring and storing their data.

Verbatim’s new USB 3.0 PCI card bundled hard drive is ideal for both home- and office-based users who want to transfer large files with the newest and quickest technology available.  The company’s USB 3.0 compatible hard drive – which will be available in multiple capacities up to 2 TB – allows consumers to backup and upload content in a matter of seconds.

As a follow up to its first offering in the USB 3.0 category, in Q2 2010 Verbatim will launch a portable USB 3.0 hard drive solution.
