Riverbed: Free Cloud-Integrated Storage Delivery Solution for AWS

Riverbed Technology, Inc. announced the availability of a free version of itsSteelStore virtual edition for AWS, and 6 months of Amazon S3 at up to 8TB per month capacity, for select customers who sign up between Sept. 9 and Oct. 9, 2014.

Cloud storage is changing the backup and archive landscape, providing enterprise availability and data durability, while lowering overall costs of modern BC. By offering this promotion, the company allows customers to gain access to the benefits of cloud storage. This is a limited time offer and not all customers will qualify.

The cloud-integrated storage appliances allow customers to backup business data to Amazon S3. It uses innovations in compression, de-dupe, network acceleration and encryption to maintain enterprises of performance, availability, data security, and data durability. Once in S3, data is stored in AWS’s cloud storage service. High data durability standards allow customers to not only take advantage of the economics of cloud storage, but also improve BC and restore rates.

It integrates with existing enterprise backup and archive software solutions allowing customers to extend existing backup, archive, and DR frameworks, eliminating the need for additional storage hardware and minimizing changes required to existing operational frameworks.
