ProfitBricks Introduced Core Technology Choice to Infrastructure as a Service Platform

ProfitBricks, Inc. has strengthened its Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform by adding high speed SSD and Xeon processor for provisioning in all data centers.

With the addition of Xeon technology in all virtual servers, the firm has also created an exclusive ‘Core Technology Choice’ capability, which allows partners to choose between AMD Opteron processors and Intel processors within the same virtual data center.

Company’s IaaS has already utilized high performing HDDs. With the addition of high speed SSD, the firm now offers speeds up to 650% faster than HDD. SSD, along with all infrastructure components, is integrated into the firm’s graphical administrative interface as well as its API.

The company has also announced the addition of Xeon processors to its suite of services. Xeon processors offer users a powerful environment because each Intel core is assigned a hyper-thread, which the OS treats like a second core. Depending on the application, Xeon processor cores can perform more than twice as fast as AMD cores. Combined with its ‘Core Technology Choice’ capability, the firm is an IaaS provider allowing its users to select any arbitrary number of Intel or AMD cores for any VM.
